Christmas Markets in Vienna
• Visitors to the Magic of Advent on City
Hall Square will discover one of the most traditional Christmas
markets in Vienna with 150 stalls selling everything from tree
decorations and wooden toys to gingerbread hearts. In City Hall,
children can craft their own gifts and meet Santa.
• A Christmas Village can be found nestled
between the Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum
on Maria-Theresien-Platz. Around 50 stands and several gospel
choirs create the perfect festive atmosphere at this Vienna Christmas
market.
• At the Advent Market in front of the
spectacular Schönbrunn Palace, visitors can find handmade
jewellery and traditional tree decorations, as well as culinary
delicacies including schnapps and smoked ham.
• The Christkindlmarkt in Spittelberg offers
ceramics and knitwear, as well as silver, enamel and brass jewellery.
• The Altwiener Christkindlmarkt, located
in the Freyung district of the Old Town, offers everything from
hand-decorated Christmas tree candles to traditional basket ware.
• Among the vast collection of Vienna Christmas markets,
the city also hosts an Arts and Crafts Market located
in front of Karlskirche.
