Rail Travel

Travelling by rail offers a convenient alternative to air travel and also reduces your ‘carbon footprint’. It is a convenient way to reach Germany and beyond in a relaxing atmosphere. The excellent German Rail Network is unrivalled; to reach your destination, simply connect with either the fast THALYS or ICE service in Brussels.

 

EUROSTAR For railway enthusiasts, or anybody living within easy reach of London St. Pancras, Ashford or Ebbsfleet, the fast and efficient Eurostar service is a great alternative to air travel. Most destinations can be reached in one day if you depart on an early service. We offer Eurostar departures in both 1st and 2nd class from London St. Pancras, Ashford or Ebbsfleet to Brussels and onwards with Thalys/ICE services to Cologne. For 1st class passengers a meal is included in the cost and the service also offers reclining seats.

Rail holidays, including accommodation, can be tailor-made to fit your particular requirements. For example, we can offer routes via Paris or Amsterdam and then onto Prague.

Night Services
If you are travelling to a Bavarian or Austrian resort, it is possible to break up your journey in Cologne. Night sleeper services from Cologne are available, details and prices are on request.

Please note
Rail holidays may not be suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. Getting on and off trains with your luggage, often in a short time, can be a problem due to high, steep steps and gaps between platforms and trains. Sometimes luggage has to be lifted onto overhead racks and at some stations, steps have to be negotiated with luggage.
