The surrounding countryside and vineyards can be explored by using the well signposted footpaths or by taking a day trip on the Rhine.

Your Christmas Itinerary

  • Sunday 23rd December:
    Fly into Düsseldorf or Cologne and onward rail transfer to Boppard. Welcome drink before dinner.
  • Monday 24th December:
    Enjoy a train ride and a guided walk through the forest, ideal for working up an appetite. The Special Festive Dinner takes place tonight and will be accompanied by a piano/violin duo.
  • Tuesday 25th December:
    A leisurely brunch is served. In the afternoon Father Christmas will pay a visit with a small gift for each guest – tea/coffee and Christmas cake will be served. The evening sees a special Festive Christmas meal.
  • Wednesday 26th December:
    Optional morning cruise to the Loreley Rock (pay locally) followed by music in the afternoon. A special festive musical dinner in planned for the evening.
  • Thursday 27th December:
    Day at leisure, why not explore some of the many wine cellars in Boppard.
  • Friday 28th December:
    Homeward journey to the UK.

Schenkenzell

Enjoy the Christmas festivities in a charming village tucked away in the Kinzig valley south of Freudenstadt. Red-roofed houses, a village church, a ruined castle and small shops and restaurants make up this idyllic hideaway in the fir-clad hills of the Black Forest.

  • Sunday 23rd December
    Visit to the scenic village of Gengenbach. Return to Schenkenzell by rail (cost not included).
  • Monday 24th December
    Day at leisure. Festive Christmas dinner menu in the evening.
  • Tuesday 25th December
    The afternoon sees a demonstration of the making of a Black Forest gateau and after a chance to taste the cake! Festive Christmas dinner menu in the evening.
  • Wednesday 26th December
    Day at leisure. Why not visit nearby Schiltach by rail or take a walk there (approx. 5 km). Stroll through this small romantic timber-framed town. There are also a number of interesting museums.
  • Thursday 27th December
    Transfer by coach to the airport for your flight connection home.
